Gift Registries, Cash Gifts & Reservable Wishlists — Now on Your Digital Invitation
Asking for gifts is one of the most awkward parts of planning an event. Paste an Amazon link and two aunts buy the same blender. Write "no gifts, but a contribution to our honeymoon would be lovely" and then field twenty separate WhatsApp messages asking for your bank details. Use a dedicated registry site and watch it skim a fee off every cash gift.
We rebuilt Fotify's gift section to fix all three problems — and it lives right inside the same digital invitation your guests already use to RSVP. No extra app, no separate link, no fees.
Here's what's new.
A reservable wishlist, not just a store link
The biggest change is the wishlist: a list of specific items you'd love to receive, where guests can reserve what they're getting.
Each item can have a name, a photo, a price, a short description, an optional link to buy it, and a quantity. When a guest reserves an item, it's marked as taken for everyone else — so nobody doubles up, and you don't end up with three slow cookers. Plans changed? Guests can undo their own reservation in a tap.
It's the classic registry experience, except it sits on your invitation instead of a third-party site, and it works for any kind of gift — not just things from one store.
Cash gifts with scannable QR codes
Cash is now the most common wedding gift in much of the world, and "send money" should be the easiest thing on your invitation — not the clunkiest. So every cash option now comes with a "Scan to pay" QR code alongside the usual copy button.
Add as many methods as you like:
- Bank transfer (IBAN / account number)
- PayPal, Venmo, Zelle
- Pix (Brazil) and Bizum (Spain)
- Honeymoon fund
- Crypto
- A custom option for anything else
Guests open the invitation on their phone, tap the QR, and pay straight from their banking or wallet app — no squinting at a 22-digit IBAN and typing it by hand. For the most reliable scan you can paste a ready-made payment link or code (a paypal.me link, a Pix copia-e-cola payload); otherwise Fotify builds a sensible QR from the details you enter.
Crucially, the money never touches Fotify. There are no gift fees and no payout delays — guests pay you directly through your own accounts. Fotify just removes the friction and keeps you organized.
"I sent a gift" — so you can actually say thank you
Cash gifts have always had a tracking problem: money lands in your account with a name you don't recognize, and you spend the next month reconstructing who gave what.
Now guests can tap "I sent a gift" right on the invitation and leave their name, an optional amount, a message, and even a screenshot of the transfer. You get an organized Gifts Received list in your dashboard with a Mark thanked toggle, plus an email whenever a new gift or reservation comes in. Writing thank-you notes goes from detective work to checking off a list.
Where it fits in your invitation
The gift section renders cleanly in Fotify's standard design and in all five premium editorial templates — Atelier, Cinematic, Marigold, Vesper, and Linen. If you're already customizing fonts, colors, and layout (see our guide to building the perfect RSVP invitation), gifts slot right in as another section you can reorder and rename.
It also pairs naturally with the rest of Fotify's invitation toolkit. Running a multi-day celebration? Combine gifts with sub-events and special treatments to handle the welcome dinner, hotel block, and after-party in the same invitation.
Real use cases
Weddings. A curated wishlist for the home, a honeymoon fund with a Pix or PayPal QR, and a charity option for guests who'd rather give back — all on one wedding invitation. Guests reserve the espresso machine, scan to chip in on the trip, and tap "I sent a gift" so your thank-you list writes itself.
Baby showers. Reservable wishlist items (crib, monitor, the specific stroller you actually want) mean no duplicate gifts and no returns.
Milestone birthdays & retirements. Skip the stuff entirely — a single cash QR and a "no gifts, just your presence" message, with an optional group contribution toward one big experience.
Housewarmings & engagement parties. Mix a short wishlist with a cash option and a charity, and let guests choose how they want to celebrate you.
Availability
Setting up registries, cash options with QR codes, and charities is available on every event. The interactive extras — guests reserving wishlist items and sending "I sent a gift" confirmations — are available on paid and subscription events. See pricing for the full breakdown, and our roundup of the best digital invitation apps of 2026 for how Fotify compares.
Ready to set yours up? Open your event's invitation, scroll to the Gift section, and start with one wishlist item or one cash QR. Your guests — and your thank-you list — will thank you.
