Do Guests Need an Account to Upload?

No! Guests can upload photos without creating an account or signing up for anything. The process is completely frictionless.

How Guest Uploads Work

1. Guest scans your QR code or opens your upload link
2. They select photos from their phone
3. Optionally add their name and a message
4. Tap upload - done!

No email, no password, no sign-up form. It works directly in their phone's browser.

Optional Information

Guests can choose to add:

• Name (up to 50 characters) - Helps identify who took the photo
• Message (up to 200 characters) - A caption or well-wishes

Both are optional unless you make them required (see below). Anonymous uploads are totally fine.

Controlling Who Can Upload

Anyone with your QR code or upload link can upload while the event is live. To narrow that down:

• Upload password — guests type a password before they can upload. Set it on the Upload page tab of Page Design under Upload password (how it works). Share it only with the people you want uploading.
• Ask for a name — on the Photos page, open Upload Form → Upload Form Settings and set Name field to Required, so every upload carries who sent it. Require Before Upload asks for the form before guests pick photos (upload forms).
• Approve before it shows — with manual approval or AI moderation, nothing reaches the gallery or the live screen until it is approved (approving photos). Delete anything that shouldn't be there.
• Pause or end the event — uploads are accepted only while the event is live. Pause stops them for a while; End event stops them for good.

One Response Per Device limits each phone to one form answer, but guests can get around it, so don't rely on it to stop uploads.

What isn't possible: blocking one particular guest, or limiting uploads to a list of named people. Guests don't sign in, so Fotify can't tell them apart. The upload password is the closest option.

Guests don't need to:

• Download any app
• Create an account
• Enter their email
• Remember a password

Everything works in the mobile browser.
