Gift Registries, Cash Gifts & Wishlists on Your Invitation

Fotify's gift section lets you tell guests exactly how they can celebrate you โ€” store registries, cash gifts with scannable QR codes, a reservable wishlist of specific items, and charity donations โ€” all on the same digital invitation they already use to RSVP.

Fotify never touches the money. Guests pay you directly through your own accounts; Fotify just makes it effortless for them and keeps you organized with reservation counts and a thank-you list.

Step 1: Open the Gift section

  1. Go to your event dashboard at dashboard.fotify.app
  2. Select your event and open the Invitation tab
  3. Scroll to the Gift Registry section and turn on "Enable gift section on invitation"

You can add an optional custom title (e.g. "Our Wishes"), a personal message such as "Your presence is the only gift we need โ€” but if you'd like to contribute, here are a few ways", and a custom thank-you message that's shown to guests right after they confirm they've sent a gift (e.g. "Thank you so much โ€” we'll send a personal note soon โค๏ธ"). Leave the thanks message blank to use the default.

Shortcut: the dedicated Gifts tab in your event includes a "Set up gifts on your invitation" button that drops you right at this section.

Step 2: Add a reservable wishlist

A wishlist holds specific items you'd love to receive. Unlike a plain store link, guests can reserve an item so two people don't buy the same thing.

For each item you can add:

  • A name (e.g. "Espresso machine")
  • An optional description, price, and photo
  • An optional link to where it can be bought
  • A quantity (how many you'd like)

When a guest reserves an item, it's marked as taken for everyone else, and you'll see the reservation count next to each item in your dashboard. Guests can undo their own reservation if their plans change.

Step 3: Add cash gifts with QR codes

Under Monetary Contributions, add any way you'd like to receive money. Fotify supports bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Pix (Brazil), Bizum (Spain), a honeymoon fund, crypto, and a custom option.

For each one, enter a title and the details guests need (an account number, email, handle, or key). Guests get a one-tap copy button and a "Scan to pay" QR code so they can pay straight from their banking or wallet app โ€” no typing long IBANs on a phone.

For the most reliable QR, paste a ready-made payment link or code in the optional payment link / QR value field โ€” for example a paypal.me link or a Pix copia-e-cola payload. If you leave it blank, Fotify builds a sensible QR from the details you entered.

Step 4: Add store registries and charities (optional)

  • Gift Registries โ€” link out to registries you've created on other stores (Amazon, a department store, a honeymoon site). Each becomes a tidy card with the store name and an optional description.
  • Charitable Donations โ€” if you'd prefer guests give to a cause, list charities with an optional link and short description.

Add, edit, and reorder any item with the arrows, then click Save Changes.

What guests see

On the invitation, guests see your gift section with everything you've set up. They can:

  • Browse and reserve wishlist items
  • Scan a QR code or copy details to send a cash gift
  • Tap "I sent a gift" to let you know they contributed โ€” optionally adding an amount, a message, and a screenshot of the transfer

Tracking gifts and saying thank you

Your event has a dedicated Gifts tab (next to Sub-events & VIP) where all gift activity lives in one place:

  • A summary header with items reserved, gifts received, and thanked counts
  • Wishlist claims grouped by item, so you can see who's getting what at a glance
  • The full Gifts Received list โ€” name, amount, message, screenshot, and a Mark thanked button on each one

Guest names that came in through an RSVP link are clickable: tap one to jump straight to the Guests tab with that person pre-filtered, so you can see their full RSVP, plus-ones, and contact details without leaving the dashboard.

In the Gift Registry section of the Invitation tab you'll also see live reservation counts (e.g. 1/2 reserved) next to each wishlist item as you edit. Fotify emails you whenever a guest reserves an item or sends a gift confirmation, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does Fotify process the payments or take a fee? A: No. Fotify never handles the money and charges no gift fees. Guests pay you directly through whatever method you list โ€” the QR codes and copy buttons just make it faster for them.

Q: Can guests reserve the same item twice? A: No. Once an item's quantity is reserved, it's shown as taken to other guests. Each guest can undo their own reservation if needed.

Q: Is the cash amount required when a guest sends a gift confirmation? A: No. The amount, message, and screenshot are all optional. Only a name is needed so you know who to thank.

Q: Can I mix a wishlist, cash gifts, and a charity? A: Yes. Show any combination โ€” a curated wishlist, one or more cash options, store registries, and charities all at once.
