Stack Template โ€” Complete Guide

Stack is an invitation laid out like the website of a modern summit. The whole page is built from big rounded panels stacked with small gaps on a near-black ground: a cover with a swooping curve of light, your event name set large and a spinning reply badge, a coloured band of key facts, then one panel per section down to a closing panel and a footer.

Stack is one of Fotify's simpler designs: its look comes from three colours you choose โ€” any colours at all โ€” for the panels, the accent and the band.

This guide covers how Stack looks, the options unique to it, how to apply it to your event, and how it lays out each section of your invitation.

Stack is available on every plan, Free included.

For an overview of the template gallery and the picker, see How to Customize Your RSVP Invitation.

What makes Stack different

Standard templates change colours and fonts over the same shared layout. Stack replaces the layout itself: its own cover, band and closing, its own section heads, and its own treatment of the message, countdown, gallery, story, agenda, FAQ and reply card.

Signature design elements

  • A stack of panels โ€” every section sits in its own big rounded panel, in your panel colour or in a near-black shade of it, with a small gap of dark ground between panels
  • A curve of light โ€” a soft, glowing curve sweeps across the cover and the closing panel
  • A spinning reply badge โ€” your reply button's text runs round a circle with an arrow in the middle; tap it to jump to the RSVP form
  • A band of stats โ€” up to four short facts you type, like "3 days" or "40+ talks", in a coloured band under the cover with thin sparkles between them
  • [Bracket] labels โ€” every section opens with a small uppercase label in square brackets, in your accent colour
  • Summit typography โ€” Urbanist, a friendly geometric sans, for the names, titles and numbers, with Red Hat Text for the reading text
  • Always readable โ€” whatever colours you pick, even a pale yellow or a near-black, the text and the buttons are adjusted until they read clearly

When to choose Stack

Stack suits events that want to feel current and well organised:

  • Conferences, summits and meetups โ€” an agenda in wide rows, the people behind it as portrait cards, and a FAQ guests can scan
  • Product launches and company parties โ€” the panels and the accent in your brand colours, and your key numbers in the band
  • Team offsites and company milestones โ€” a statement-style welcome message and a countdown in big tiles
  • Graduation parties โ€” the class, the weekend and the party in the band, and your story told card by card

Whatever the occasion, the photos your guests take matter as much as the invitation. Guests can scan the event QR code and add their photos to the shared gallery. See how Fotify works for corporate events.

For a brand-coloured split-screen page that keeps the essentials in view, try Meridian. For a conference shown as a stage with slides, try Keynote.

Applying Stack to your event

  1. Open your event, click Invitation in the sidebar, then the Invitation tab
  2. In Design Template, click Change template if the gallery is collapsed, and find Stack under Designs (it is listed under the Corporate filter, and under Party and Graduation too)
  3. Optional: press Try it on to see Stack with your own invitation details in the live preview โ€” nothing is saved until you press Use this design
  4. Or click the Stack card to apply it straight away
  5. Open Stack options below the gallery to pick your colours and the other options described below. Changes save automatically

Stack works on every plan. On free events a small "Made with Fotify" badge appears in the bottom corner of the invitation; any paid plan or an active subscription removes it.

Switching to another template later is non-destructive: your event content stays exactly as you entered it, and your Stack options are kept in case you switch back.

Stack options

Stack has ten options of its own. They take the place of the standard colour and font controls, which Stack doesn't use.

1. Panel colour

The colour of the panels the page is built from. Pick a suggested swatch โ€” Indigo (default), Forest, Plum, Charcoal or Ocean โ€” or Pick any color to open your device's colour picker and match a brand colour exactly. The colour's code is shown beside the chips.

Any colour works: Stack always deepens it into a dark shade of the same hue, so the page keeps its dark, stacked look. The ground between the panels, the cards inside them and the curve of light on the cover follow it.

2. Accent

The colour of the buttons, the reply badge, the open question in your FAQ and the small [bracket] labels. Swatches: Periwinkle (default), Lime, Coral, Sky and Gold, or Pick any color. The light cards of your gifts and story take a pale tint of it. The shade is adjusted so every label on it stays readable.

3. Band colour

The colour of the band of stats under the cover and of the "add to calendar" panel. Swatches: Crimson (default), Magenta, Orange, Teal and Violet, or Pick any color. The text on the band switches between white and dark so it always reads.

4. Flower-shaped story photos

Turn it on to cut the photos of your story cards into a four-petal flower shape instead of a rounded portrait. Off by default. Only the shape changes; the photo itself stays as you uploaded it.

5โ€“8. Stat 1 to Stat 4

Four short facts for the band under the cover, each up to 24 characters, shown exactly as you type them โ€” e.g. "3 days", "40+ talks", "600 guests" or "Class of 2027". Leave any of them blank to leave it out. With all four blank, the band is not shown at all. Stack never counts or makes up a number for you.

9. Cover line

The short line in the top corner of the cover (up to 80 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("You are invited"). Try "Our annual summit for the whole team" or "Two days of talks and one long dinner".

10. Closing line

The big line on the closing panel, over the reply button (up to 80 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("Save your seat").

Every piece of text Stack prints on the invitation โ€” the cover line, the reply badge and button, the section labels and titles, the countdown units, the ticket labels, the closing line โ€” can also be rewritten directly on the page: switch the live preview into edit mode and double-click the text. Section titles you have already set in their own settings (story, countdown, gifts, where to stay, getting there, FAQs) are edited in place the same way.

How each section is treated

Cover

The first panel replaces the standard header:

  • The curve of light sweeping across the panel
  • The cover line (option 9) in the top corner
  • The date, the time and the place over your event name โ€” the time follows the Show time setting of your invitation's cover, the date and the place follow Show date and Show location, and every guest sees the date you picked, whatever their time zone
  • Your event name, set large in Urbanist. Long names step down a size so they never break mid-word
  • Your cover photo in a rounded frame on the other side, keeping the horizontal crop you set
  • The reply badge โ€” your reply text running round a slowly turning circle, on the photo's corner (or on its own without a photo). It scrolls to the RSVP form, and only appears when your RSVP section is visible, never on a save-the-date page

Under the cover comes the band with your stats (options 5โ€“8), when you typed any.

Section heads

Each section opens with its label in small uppercase letters between square brackets, in your accent colour, then its title set large and, for the story and gifts, your subtitle or gift message.

Message โ€” the statement

Your message on a near-black panel, set large like the one-line pitch of a summit. A long message switches to the reading face.

Countdown โ€” key-figure tiles

Each unit is a rounded tile with its number set very large and its name as a small [bracket] label underneath โ€” all in one row on a wide screen. It counts down to your event's date and time in the venue's time zone, and shows your completed message once the moment arrives.

Gallery (Carousel)

Your photos on a near-black panel, in a grid of fine lines: every photo in its own cell, with rounded corners โ€” two to a row on a phone and three on wider screens.

Story โ€” portrait cards

Each milestone is a light card in a pale tint of your accent: its photo on top (a rounded portrait, or a four-petal flower with option 4), its title as the name, its date in the accent colour, and its text below. Every milestone is set the same way; one without a date or a photo leaves that part out.

Itinerary โ€” the agenda

The agenda in wide rows: the time on one side, the moment set large across the middle with its note under it, and the place on the other side, each row ruled off by a fine line. Each day opens with its date or label as a [bracket] label (only when the day has a date or a label). Entry icons are not shown.

RSVP โ€” the ticket

"Will you join us?" with your RSVP deadline under it, and the reply form on a card dressed as a ticket: the event's date and place in its head, then a dashed tear line with a notch punched at each end. On a save-the-date page the card holds the save-the-date note instead of the form.

Location, Gifts, Event Details and Save the Date

These four sections share their structure with Fotify's other picker-coloured designs (Meridian, Thread, Prism and Duotone), dressed in Stack's panels:

  • Location โ€” on a near-black panel: a map card beside an address card with your address, your directions and an Open in Maps button. When a map can't be shown, the map card draws a pin with the venue's coordinates; without coordinates the address card spans the row
  • Gifts โ€” every registry, payment option, charity and wishlist item is a light card, up to three to a row, with a dashed tear line above its buttons, grouped under small labels (with a count) when you offer more than one kind. Payment details sit in an inset box with a Copy button, and long account numbers wrap inside the card. Pay links, scan-to-pay QR codes and wishlist reservations appear as buttons on each card
  • Event Details โ€” on a near-black panel: a card per topic โ€” dress code with your suggested and avoided colours as swatches, where to stay with each hotel as a mini-card (distance, price range, promo code, notes and a Book button), getting there with an icon for each kind of transport โ€” and your FAQ in two columns of rounded tiles. The first question starts open, and an open question is filled with your accent colour
  • Save the Date (Calendar) โ€” a panel in your band colour with the title, the event date and Google, Apple (downloads the calendar file) and Outlook buttons

Closing

A closing panel with the curve of light again, your closing line (option 10) set large and a reply button. Under it, a footer panel with your event name, the date and place, and links to every section on the page.

Sections that use the shared layout

These sections keep Fotify's shared layout and are dressed in Stack's style:

  • Photo upload, QR code, Table assignment, Playlist, Sub-events, Special treatments and custom sections

Each becomes a panel of the stack, in the same column as the rest of the page, with titles in Urbanist and buttons in your accent colour. Photos in custom sections are capped in height so a tall portrait never takes over the page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do the numbers in the band come from? A: Only from the Stat 1 to Stat 4 options, exactly as you type them. Stack never counts guests, talks or days for you. Leave them all blank and the band is hidden.

Q: I picked a light panel colour. Why is the page still dark? A: Stack is built as a dark stack: the panel colour you pick is always deepened into a dark shade of the same hue, so a pale yellow becomes a deep olive. For a light accent, use the Accent option instead.

Q: Can I use Stack for a graduation or a party rather than a conference? A: Yes. Use the band for your own facts ("Class of 2027", "One big party"), set the Cover line in your own words, and pick colours that suit the occasion.

Q: What are the flower-shaped photos? A: With Flower-shaped story photos on, the photos of your story cards are cut into a four-petal flower instead of a rounded rectangle. Your photos themselves are not changed, and switching the option off brings the rectangles back.

Q: I don't have a cover photo. Will the cover look empty? A: No. Without a photo the cover keeps its curve of light, your event name and the reply badge on their own.

Q: Does Stack work in right-to-left languages? A: Yes. In Hebrew and Arabic the layout mirrors: your event name and the times of the agenda move to the right, the photo and the badge to the left, and the curve of light sweeps the other way.

Q: Does the page move? A: Only gently: the reply badge turns slowly and the panels fade in as you scroll. Guests whose device asks for reduced motion see a still page.
