AI Design Studio — Chat Your Invitation into Existence

The AI Design Studio is a design partner built into the invitation editor. Instead of picking a fixed template and adjusting knobs, you talk: tell the assistant about your event, answer a couple of quick questions, and watch it compose a complete invitation — palette, typography, cover, section layouts, motion and copy — in a live preview next to the chat.

Everything happens on a draft. Your guests never see a change until you press Apply to invitation.

The Studio pairs best with the Studio template, the AI-composed design system — but the assistant can also work with any template from the standard library.

Step 1: Open the AI Studio

Go to your event in the dashboard → Invitation → the AI Studio tab. On a fresh session, press Start designing whenever you're ready — the assistant introduces itself and asks a few short questions: the occasion, the style direction you're drawn to, your color mood, and what matters most on the page. Answer by tapping the option cards or just typing. If you already know what you want, skip the button and write a full brief straight into the chat (or tap one of the suggestions) — the interview is skipped entirely.

Prefer more room to work? The expand button in the preview toolbar opens the Studio full screen.

Step 2: Let It Design — Then Refine in Plain Language

After the intake, the assistant composes a complete first draft, usually starting from one of its hand-tuned design recipes (Editorial Noir, Garden Romance, Midnight Celebration and more) and personalizing it to your event. From there, refinement is conversational:

"Make it feel more formal"
"Give the story photos arched frames like wedding stationery"
"Set our names in calligraphy and add a monogram with our initials"
"Add some sparkles and a subtle film grain"
"Move the RSVP right after the welcome message"
"Add the schedule: ceremony at 5, dinner at 8"

And it's not English-only — the assistant chats in your dashboard language, and switches if you write in another one.

The preview updates live, and the mobile toggle shows exactly what guests will see on their phones. Every change creates a new version — use the stepper above the preview to walk back and forth, and apply whichever version you love.

Step 3: Bring Your Own Photos

The Asset Library sits below the chat. Upload photos, logos or graphics (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 15 MB each) and the Studio analyzes each one — describing its content and extracting its color palette — so the assistant can suggest designs that match your imagery.

Reference any asset in chat by typing @ and picking it by name
Rename assets inline so they're easy to mention
Ask for placements: the cover background, the envelope artwork, a standalone full-width image section anywhere on the page, or a photo background behind a whole section (the RSVP over your venue photo, with a scrim that keeps the text readable)

Step 4: Generate Artwork with AI

No fitting photo? Ask the assistant to generate one. Before it spends a generation, it checks your preferences:

From scratch or from your photos — you can hand it up to 3 photos from your library and the artwork is created from them. The signature move for couples: give it one photo of each of you and it paints you together in a single hero image (a photo of the two of you plus your venue or your dog works too).
Any art style, not just photos — the assistant offers directions tailored to your event: true-to-photo, painterly watercolor, hand-drawn illustration with you two as characters, minimalist line art, a retro comic-book cover starring you, a vintage travel poster of your city... tell it your favorite or let it surprise you.
For covers: a clean image with your names overlaid by the page, or your names and date painted directly into the artwork. If you choose painted-in text, the assistant writes your exact wording into the image, keeps the lettering in the mobile-safe center of the composition, and hides the page's own text overlay so nothing doubles up.

Generated images land in your Asset Library like any upload, so you can reuse, rename or replace them. Each event includes a limited number of generations — the assistant tells you how many remain and will confirm direction before spending them.

Every Word Is Yours

Anything you can read on the invitation, you can rewrite from the chat:

Welcome message — "Rewrite the welcome message in a warmer tone, two short paragraphs"
Section titles, eyebrows and notes — every section
Small labels too — countdown units ("sleeps" instead of "days"), venue and directions labels, gift group headings, calendar buttons, RSVP messages
RSVP wording — the deadline line, accept/decline button labels and the question text
Date and location wording on the cover — "show the date as New Year's Day 2027". This changes only the displayed text; the countdown, calendar buttons and RSVP deadline keep using your real event date.

One thing to know: invitations normally translate their built-in labels to each guest's language automatically. Text you override is fixed exactly as you wrote it, in every language — the assistant will remind you when that matters.

It Fills Sections, Not Just Styles

The assistant can turn sections on and off and write real content into them:

Itinerary — dictate your schedule in chat ("ceremony at 17:00 in the garden, dinner at 20:00") and it writes the entries, multi-day included. Ask it to move a time and it edits just that row.
Location — the address and arrival instructions, with a map on the invitation.
Photo carousel — builds the strip from photos in your asset library.
Custom sections — its creative canvas. Beyond menus and travel guides, it can build small interactive pieces right into your invitation: an animated countdown in your fonts, a trivia quiz about you two, even a tiny game for guests — all styled to match your design.
Finishing touches — background music from a YouTube link, the date and time format that suits the design's mood, the invitation's guest-facing language, and your RSVP deadline.

Everything lands in the draft preview first — nothing reaches guests until you apply.

What the Assistant Won't Touch

Some things are deliberately outside the chat's reach, so nothing important breaks:

Sub-events and special treatments carry guest RSVPs, access rules and redemption codes — they're managed in their own tabs. The assistant can restyle and reposition those sections, and will point you to the right tab for content changes.
Your personal facts — it never invents hotel names, story milestones or gift accounts; it asks you for the details instead.
Your live invitation — drafts stay drafts until you press Apply.

Message Allowance & Premium

Every event includes a generous per-event message allowance for the AI Studio (the counter is shown at the top of the chat). Free events can try the Studio with a shorter teaser allowance; publishing a design built on the premium Studio template requires a paid event or an active subscription — the same entitlement as other premium templates. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my guests see changes while I'm experimenting? A: No. The chat edits a private draft with its own version history. Guests only ever see what you've applied.

Q: Can I undo a design I applied? A: Yes — every version stays in the stepper. Select an earlier version and apply it again.

Q: Can I keep using the classic editor alongside the AI Studio? A: Yes. Both write to the same invitation — titles you set in the regular editor are respected by the assistant, and content you add (hotels, milestones, FAQs) shows up in its next design pass.

Q: The assistant offered me choices — do I have to pick one? A: No. Option cards are shortcuts; you can always type something else instead.

Q: How good are the AI-generated images? A: They're produced by a state-of-the-art image model at print-quality resolution, art-directed by the assistant to match your palette and mood. If a result isn't right, say what to change — but generations are limited per event, so the assistant confirms direction first.

Q: Can the AI put us in the artwork? A: Yes. Upload photos to the Asset Library and the assistant can generate from up to 3 of them at once — a faithful portrait of you together, or a stylized version: the two of you as watercolor figures, cartoon characters, even comic-book heroes on your own cover.

Q: Does the assistant speak my language? A: Yes — it replies in your dashboard language (or whichever language you write in), and it can also set the invitation itself to a specific language for your guests.

Q: Is my conversation used to train AI models? A: No. Your messages, photos and designs are used only to build your invitation.
