Your Design โ Use Your Own Canva Invitation with RSVP
Your design is for organizers who already have a finished invitation, made in Canva or any other design tool, and want to keep it exactly as it is. Upload it as images and it becomes the whole page your guests open. A floating button at the bottom of the screen opens your RSVP form, and anything else you choose, in a window over your design.
Your guests see your design, untouched, and can still reply, find the venue, see the gifts or upload photos without leaving it.
Your design is available on every plan, Free included.
For an overview of the template gallery and the other designs, see How to Customize Your RSVP Invitation.
How it works
- Your pages are the page. Each image is one page of your invitation, shown in order, at its own shape, from edge to edge on a phone. Fotify doesn't crop it, draw over it or add its own title.
- One floating button. It says RSVP unless you change it, and it stays at the bottom of the screen while guests scroll through your pages.
- A window with what you choose. The button opens a window over your design with the RSVP form and any other sections you picked (location, schedule, gifts, details, add to calendar, photo upload, seating and more). On a phone it slides up from the bottom; on a computer it opens in the centre. Guests close it with the close button, by tapping outside it, or with the Escape key.
- Everything else works as usual. Answers, confirmation messages, plus-ones, your own questions, the RSVP deadline, sub-events and perks, the envelope opening and background music behave exactly as on any other design.
Best for
- Invitations you already designed in Canva, Adobe Express, Illustrator or by a designer
- Memorials and celebrations of life, where the design matters and you mainly want to collect photos and memories
- Printed invitations you also want to send digitally, with the same artwork
- Any event where you'd rather keep your look than pick a template
Setting it up
- Go to your event, click Invitation in the sidebar and open the Design tab
- In the template gallery, click Your design to try it on in the preview, then click Use this design
- In Your design options, under Pages, click Add pages and select your images, one per page. They upload in the order you pick them; use the arrows to reorder
- Under What the button opens, tick the sections guests should find behind the button. RSVP is ticked to start with
- Optionally change the Button text, the Button colour and the Background, then open the preview to check it on a phone
Exporting from Canva
In Canva, open your design and choose Share โ Download, pick PNG, select all pages and download. Upload the PNG files in order. A portrait design (for example 1080 ร 1920) looks best on phones, where most guests open their invitation.
Each image can be up to 15 MB, and a design can have up to 10 pages. PNG, JPEG, WebP and HEIC images are accepted.
Until you upload your pages, guests see your event name, date and place with the button, so the invitation never shows an empty page.
Your design options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pages | Your invitation images, one per page, in order. Remove a page or move it up and down. Removing a page only takes it off the invitation; the image stays in your Asset Library. |
| What the button opens | The sections in the window, shown in the order of the list. Sections you haven't set up yet don't appear. If you untick everything, the page shows no button. |
| Button text | What the floating button says (up to 40 characters). Leave it blank for RSVP. It also titles the window. |
| Button colour | The floating button and the buttons inside the window. Pick a colour from your design: the label always stays readable. |
| Background | The colour around your pages on a computer and the tint of the window. Match the edge of your design so the page looks seamless. |
| Page width on a computer | Narrow for a portrait design, Wide for a landscape one. Phones always show your pages edge to edge. |
| Space between pages | A small gap between pages, like separate cards. Off by default, so the pages flow as one long design. |
Tips
- Put the facts in your design. Guests read your images, so include the date, time and place in them. The window can also show the location map and an add-to-calendar button.
- Leave room at the bottom. The floating button sits over the bottom of the screen; keep important text away from the very bottom edge of your last page.
- Prefer a few long pages to many short ones. Each page loads separately; a design split into 2 to 4 pages loads fast on a phone.
- Accessibility. Screen readers can't read text inside an image. Fotify adds your event name, date and place as text for them, so keep those up to date in your event settings.
