Quinceañera Template — Complete Guide
Quinceañera is an elegant invitation for a fifteenth birthday, a sweet sixteen or any birthday that deserves a ball gown. The page is washed in a soft tint of the colour you pick — often the colour of the dress — with gold foil throughout: your cover photo sits in an ornate gold oval crowned with a tiara, the name is written in a flowing script, an optional large gold numeral stands beside the frame, and a few petals rest at the edges of the cover.
Quinceañera is one of Fotify's simpler designs: its look comes from one colour you choose — any colour at all — and a choice of ornament.
This guide covers how Quinceañera looks, the options unique to it, how to apply it to your event, and how it lays out each section of your invitation.
Quinceañera is available on every plan, Free included.
For an overview of the template gallery and the picker, see How to Customize Your RSVP Invitation.
What makes Quinceañera different
Standard templates change colours and fonts over the same shared layout. Quinceañera replaces the layout itself: its own cover and closing, its own section heads, and its own treatment of the message, countdown, gallery, story and programme.
Signature design elements
- A ball-gown colour — pick it from the suggested colours or from the colour picker. Quinceañera tints the page with a soft wash of it and uses it for the buttons, the roses, the jewels of the tiara and the petals, always beside gold
- Gold foil — the oval around your photo, the tiara, the frames of the countdown and the gallery, the small labels and the age numeral are all in gold
- An ornate gold oval — your cover photo in a double gold frame with beads and scrolls, crowned with a tiara, a garland of roses or butterflies
- The name in a flowing script — Great Vibes for the name on the cover, and the elegant Cormorant Garamond serif for everything else
- An optional age numeral — a large gold "15", "XV" or "16" beside the cover photo, only when you type one
- Petals on the cover — a few soft petals (or butterflies) resting at the edges of the cover, swaying gently
- Always readable — whatever colour you pick, even a pale yellow or a near-black, the text, the gold and the buttons are deepened until they read clearly on the page
When to choose Quinceañera
Quinceañera suits birthdays that feel like a ball:
- Quinceañeras (XV años) — the cover photo in the gold oval, the evening's programme with your own moments, and a story of the fifteen years so far
- Sweet sixteens — type "16" as the age numeral and set the story title to match
- Elegant birthdays and debutante balls — any birthday with a dress code, a dance floor and a family that wants to say a few words
At a quinceañera, the photos everyone takes matter as much as the invitation. Guests can scan the event QR code and add their photos to the shared gallery. See how Fotify works for birthdays.
For a children's party, try Storybook. For a party with stickers and bright colours, try Confetti.
Applying Quinceañera to your event
- Open your event, click Invitation in the sidebar, then the Invitation tab
- In Design Template, click Change template if the gallery is collapsed, and find Quinceañera under Designs (it is listed under the Birthday filter, and under Party and Elegant too)
- Optional: press Try it on to see Quinceañera with your own invitation details in the live preview — nothing is saved until you press Use this design
- Or click the Quinceañera card to apply it straight away
- Open Quinceañera options below the gallery to pick your colour and the other options described below. Changes save automatically
Quinceañera works on every plan. On free events a small "Made with Fotify" badge appears in the bottom corner of the invitation; any paid plan or an active subscription removes it.
Switching to another template later is non-destructive: your event content stays exactly as you entered it, and your Quinceañera options are kept in case you switch back.
Quinceañera options
Quinceañera has five options of its own. They take the place of the standard colour and font controls, which Quinceañera doesn't use.
1. Gown colour
The colour of the celebration. Pick it two ways:
- A suggested swatch — Rose (default), Lavender, Champagne, Royal blue, Emerald or Ruby
- Pick any color — the last chip opens your device's colour picker, so you can match the dress, the flowers or the decorations exactly. The colour's code is shown beside the chips
Any colour works. Quinceañera never paints your pick as it is where it would hurt legibility: the page gets only a soft wash of it, and the buttons, the roses and the coloured text use the shade of your colour that reads clearly. The gold is deepened the same way, so it always shows on the page.
2. Ornament
What crowns the cover photo, sits above every section title, marks each milestone of the story and rests at the edges of the cover:
- Tiara (default) — a gold tiara with jewels in your colour, and petals on the cover
- Roses — a garland of three roses, and petals on the cover
- Butterflies — three butterflies on a dotted flight line, and small butterflies on the cover
3. Age numeral
Up to 3 characters, shown exactly as you type them as a large gold numeral beside the cover photo — for example "15", "XV" or "16". Leave it blank to show no numeral. Quinceañera never works out an age from your dates or your event name.
4. Cover line
The small line above the name on the cover (up to 60 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("Celebrate with us"). Try "Together with her parents", "Join us for the fifteenth birthday of" or "Mis quince años".
5. Closing line
The line at the end of the page (up to 80 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("We can't wait to celebrate with you").
Every piece of text Quinceañera prints on the invitation — the cover line, the Kindly reply buttons, the section labels and titles, the countdown units, the closing line — can also be rewritten directly on the page: switch the live preview into edit mode and double-click the text. Section titles you have already set in their own settings (story, countdown, gifts, where to stay, getting there, FAQs) are edited in place the same way.
How each section is treated
Cover
A centred cover replaces the standard header:
- Your cover photo in an ornate gold oval with beads and scrolls, keeping the horizontal crop you set, crowned with your ornament (option 2). Without a cover photo the oval becomes a looking glass, a soft wash of your colour with two gleams of light, so the cover never looks empty
- The age numeral (option 3) in large gold foil beside the frame, when you typed one
- A few petals (or butterflies) resting at the edges of the cover
- Cover line (option 4) in gold, spaced capitals
- Your event name in the flowing script. Long names step down a size so they never break mid-word
- The date, the time and the place under a gold flourish — the time follows the Show time setting of your invitation's cover, and every guest sees the date you picked, whatever their time zone
- Kindly reply — a button that scrolls to the RSVP form. It only appears when your RSVP section is visible, and never on a save-the-date page
Section heads
Each section opens centred: your ornament in small between two gold hairlines, the section's label in gold small capitals, then its title in the serif and, for the story and gifts, your subtitle or gift message.
Message — a letter from the family
Your message sits on a card of fine paper with a gold double rule, like a letter from the family, with a spray of roses drawn in two opposite corners. A long letter steps down a size and aligns to the start of the line, which is easier to read over many lines.
Countdown
One gold-framed rosette per unit — eight petals in gold line with a soft wash of your colour — with the number on the plain centre and the unit name in gold underneath. It counts down to your event's date and time in the venue's time zone, and shows your completed message once the moment arrives.
Gallery (Carousel)
A cascade of oval frames: every photo is an oval portrait in a gold ring, the columns stepping down one after another — two columns on a phone and three on wider screens (two for two or four photos, and a single centred oval for one). Photos left over at the end of the last row are centred under the others. Every photo is framed the same way.
Story — "Fifteen years"
A timeline of the years so far, titled "Fifteen years" unless you set your own story title (for a sweet sixteen, rename it in the story settings or double-click it in the preview). A gold line runs down the page and every milestone hangs off it at a small gold medallion holding your ornament, with its date in gold capitals, its title in the serif, its text and its photo in a gold-ringed frame. On wider screens the date moves into its own column before the line. Every milestone is laid out the same way.
Itinerary — the evening's programme
The schedule on one gold-edged card, set like an engraved programme: under each day's date, every entry shows its time in your colour, the moment in the serif, the place in italics and any note, with a small gold flourish between two entries. The moments are exactly the entries you write — the ceremony, the waltz, the toast, the cake — in your own words. Entry icons are not shown.
Location, Gifts, Event Details, Save the Date and RSVP
These five sections share their structure with Fotify's other picker-coloured designs (Meridian, Thread, Prism and Duotone), dressed in Quinceañera's colours: soft cards with rounded corners and a fine gold double rule, rounded buttons in your colour, and Cormorant Garamond titles.
- Location — a map card beside an address card with your address, your directions and an Open in Maps button. When a map can't be shown, the map card draws a pin with the venue's coordinates; without coordinates the address card spans the row
- Gifts — every registry, payment option, charity and wishlist item is its own card in a grid, grouped under small labels (with a count) when you offer more than one kind. Payment details sit in an inset box with a Copy button, and long account numbers wrap inside the card. Pay links, scan-to-pay QR codes and wishlist reservations appear as buttons on each card
- Event Details — a card per topic: dress code with your suggested and avoided colours as swatches, where to stay with each hotel as a mini-card (distance, price range, promo code, notes and a Book button), getting there with an icon for each kind of transport, and a full-width FAQ card where each question opens on tap
- Save the Date (Calendar) — one card with the title and the event date on one side, and Google, Apple (downloads the calendar file) and Outlook buttons on the other
- RSVP — "Will you celebrate with us?" with your RSVP deadline under it, and the reply form on a card with a double gold edge: the attend / decline choices as two selectable boxes and a rounded send button. On a save-the-date page, the card holds the save-the-date note instead of the form
Closing
Your ornament between gold hairlines, your closing line (option 5) in the serif, the date and place, and the same Kindly reply button as on the cover.
Sections that use the shared layout
These sections keep Fotify's shared layout and are dressed in Quinceañera's style:
- Photo upload, QR code, Table assignment, Playlist, Sub-events, Special treatments and custom sections
Each sits in the same column as the rest of the page on a soft card with a fine gold edge, with titles in Cormorant Garamond and rounded buttons in your colour. Photos in custom sections are capped in height so a tall portrait never takes over the page.
Quinceañera has no section of its own for the court of honour (damas and chambelanes). To introduce them, add a custom section with their names, and place it wherever you like among the other sections.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is Quinceañera only for fifteenth birthdays? A: No. It suits a sweet sixteen or any elegant birthday too. Type the age you celebrate as the Age numeral (or leave it blank), and set your own story title if "Fifteen years" doesn't fit.
Q: Where does the age numeral come from? A: Only from the Age numeral option. Leave it blank and no numeral is shown; Quinceañera never works out an age from your dates or your event name.
Q: Can I write the invitation in Spanish? A: Yes. Your own texts (the event name, the message, the programme, the story) appear exactly as you write them, and every line Quinceañera adds can be changed with the Cover line and Closing line options or by double-clicking it in the live preview.
Q: How do I show the waltz, the toast or the surprise dance? A: Add them as entries of your itinerary. Quinceañera lays out the entries you write, in your own words, as the evening's programme.
Q: Can I introduce the court of honour? A: Yes, with a custom section: give it a title such as "Court of honour" and list the damas and chambelanes in it.
Q: I picked a pale colour. Why are the buttons darker than my colour? A: Quinceañera keeps every label readable: the page gets a soft wash of your colour, and the buttons and coloured text use a deeper shade of the same hue so they read clearly.
Q: I don't have a cover photo. Will the cover look empty? A: No. Without a photo, the gold oval becomes a softly gleaming looking glass in your colour, still crowned with your ornament, followed by your cover line and the name.
Q: Does Quinceañera work in right-to-left languages? A: Yes. In Hebrew and Arabic the layout mirrors: the age numeral stands on the right of the frame, the story line runs down the right side and the roses on the letter swap corners. The cover photo's crop stays as you set it.
Q: Does the page move? A: Only a gentle fade as the cover appears and the petals swaying slowly. Guests whose device asks for reduced motion see a still page.
