Sealed Template โ Complete Guide
Sealed is a romantic invitation for a garden or villa wedding. Your cover photo fills the screen with your names set huge across its foot, and the rest of the page is warm handmade paper held together by wax seals: on the envelope under your invitation, pinning the notes of your story, beside each moment of your day and on the reply card.
Sealed is one of Fotify's simpler designs: its look comes from two colours you choose โ any colours at all โ one for the buttons and one for the wax โ and a botanical drawing.
This guide covers how Sealed looks, the options unique to it, how to apply it to your event, and how it lays out each section of your invitation.
Sealed is available on every plan, Free included.
For an overview of the template gallery and the picker, see How to Customize Your RSVP Invitation.
What makes Sealed different
Standard templates change colours and fonts over the same shared layout. Sealed replaces the layout itself: its own cover and closing, its own section heads, and its own treatment of the message, countdown, gallery, story, itinerary, venue and reply card.
Signature design elements
- A full-bleed cover โ your photo fills the cover inside softly rounded corners, with a soft dark gradient at its foot, your names set very large in a high-contrast serif, a small line above them and the date at the end of a fine line
- Wax seals โ each one drawn with an irregular spill of wax, a soft sheen and an embossed rim, with a heart, a star or a sprig pressed into it. Pick the wax from the suggested colours or from the colour picker
- Handmade paper โ the notes of your story and the countdown tags are torn from grey-cream paper with a fine fibre texture
- Botanical line-art โ peonies, olive branches or lemon blossom drawn in fine lines behind your story
- A rococo frame โ your venue's address sits inside an ornate frame of scrollwork and shells, over a softly blurred copy of your cover photo
- Typography โ Gloock, a high-contrast serif, for your names, the titles and the numbers; Albert Sans for the reading text and the small spaced capitals; Alex Brush, a flowing script, for your names at the close, the polaroid captions and the line on the envelope
- Always readable โ whatever colours you pick, even a pale yellow or a near-black, the text and the buttons are adjusted until they read clearly
When to choose Sealed
Sealed suits romantic, photo-led celebrations:
- Garden and villa weddings โ a full-bleed cover photo, botanical drawings and wax seals
- Destination weddings โ your venue in its rococo frame, your day down a line of gold stars, and the details guests need to travel
- Engagement parties โ your story as snapshots with notes pinned to them
- Vow renewals and anniversaries โ polaroid pairs of your favourite photos and your names in script at the close
Whatever the occasion, the photos your guests take matter as much as the invitation. Guests can scan the event QR code and add their photos to the shared gallery. See how Fotify works for weddings.
For an engraved black-tie wedding suite, try Heirloom. For one fine line in the colour you pick, try Thread.
Applying Sealed to your event
- Open your event, click Invitation in the sidebar, then the Invitation tab
- In Design Template, click Change template if the gallery is collapsed, and find Sealed under Designs (it is listed under the Wedding filter, and under Elegant too)
- Optional: press Try it on to see Sealed with your own invitation details in the live preview โ nothing is saved until you press Use this design
- Or click the Sealed card to apply it straight away
- Open Sealed options below the gallery to pick your colours and the other options described below. Changes save automatically
Sealed works on every plan. On free events a small "Made with Fotify" badge appears in the bottom corner of the invitation; any paid plan or an active subscription removes it.
Switching to another template later is non-destructive: your event content stays exactly as you entered it, and your Sealed options are kept in case you switch back.
Sealed options
Sealed has five options of its own. They take the place of the standard colour and font controls, which Sealed doesn't use.
1. Accent
The colour of the buttons, the links and the small date and time labels (the dates of your story, the times of your day). Pick it two ways:
- A suggested swatch โ Sage (default), Dusty rose, Navy, Burgundy or Champagne
- Pick any color โ the last chip opens your device's colour picker, so you can match your wedding colour exactly. The colour's code is shown beside the chips
Any colour works: the shade is adjusted where text sits on it so every label stays readable. Without a cover photo, a deep shade of your accent becomes the background of the cover, the venue and the closing.
2. Wax seals
The wax of every seal on the page and the fine accents that go with it: the small labels, the stars, the hairlines and the scrollwork around the venue.
- A suggested swatch โ Antique gold (default), Rose gold, Silver, Burgundy wax or Sage wax
- Pick any color โ any colour you like. A very pale or very dark colour is softened into a colour that still looks like wax, and the labels drawn in it are adjusted so they stay readable
3. Botanical drawing
The fine line drawing behind your story, on the cover when you have no photo and at the foot of the frame around the venue, and the sprig pressed into the wax beside each moment of your day:
- Peonies (default)
- Olive branches
- Lemon blossom
- None โ a plain paper ground, and a star pressed into the wax instead of a sprig
4. Cover line
The small line above your names on the cover (up to 60 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("You are invited to celebrate"). Try "Together with their families" or "The wedding of".
5. Closing line
The line over the last photo, above your names in script (up to 80 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("With love, until the day").
Every piece of text Sealed prints on the invitation โ the cover line, the Reply buttons, the section labels and titles, the line on the envelope, the polaroid caption, the countdown units, the closing line โ can also be rewritten directly on the page: switch the live preview into edit mode and double-click the text. Section titles you have already set in their own settings (story, countdown, gifts, where to stay, getting there, FAQs) are edited in place the same way.
How each section is treated
Cover
Your cover photo replaces the standard header, full bleed inside softly rounded corners:
- The cover line (option 4), with a fine line running on after it
- Your event name, set very large across the foot of the photo. Long names step down a size so they never break mid-word
- The place on one side and the date and the time on the other, at the end of a fine line โ the time follows the Show time setting of your invitation's cover, the date and the place follow Show date and Show location, and every guest sees the date you picked, whatever their time zone
- Reply โ a small button centred at the top of the cover that scrolls to the RSVP form. It only appears when your RSVP section is visible, and never on a save-the-date page
The photo keeps the horizontal crop you set. Without a cover photo, the cover is a deep shade of your accent with your botanical drawing in the colour of the wax.
Section heads
Each section opens centred: its label in small spaced capitals in the colour of the wax, its title in Gloock capitals, and a fine line with a small four-point star. The story's head sits on a torn patch of handmade paper so it reads over the drawing.
Message โ the invitation and the sealed envelope
Your message, centred and set in Gloock, with a sealed envelope under it: handmade paper with its folds showing, a curved flap with a fine line printed along its edge, a wax heart at its point and "Sealed with love" in script. A long message switches to the reading face and aligns to the start of the line.
Countdown โ paper tags
Every unit is a tag torn from handmade paper and pinned to the page by a small wax star, its number in Gloock and its name underneath. It counts down to your event's date and time in the venue's time zone, and shows your completed message once the moment arrives.
Gallery (Carousel)
Your photos as polaroid pairs dropped on the table: two prints overlap, each tilted its own way, and the front print of each pair carries a short line in script ("Love, always", which you can rewrite in edit mode). A last photo without a partner lies on its own.
Story โ snapshots and pinned notes
The story sits on a pale paper ground covered in your botanical drawing. Every milestone is a white snapshot card โ its title and its date over its photo โ with a torn paper note laid over its corner holding the milestone's text, pinned by a wax heart (a milestone without a photo has its note pinned just under its title). The milestones alternate sides down the page. Every milestone is set the same way; one without a photo, a date or a text leaves that part out.
Itinerary โ a line of stars
Your day runs down a fine line studded with small gold four-point stars. Each moment hangs from a star, alternating sides on wider screens (on a phone the line runs down the side): a wax seal pressed with your botanical sprig, the time, the title, the place and any note. A day heading appears only when the day has a date or a label. Entry icons are not shown.
Location โ the rococo frame
Your venue inside an ornate frame โ an arched crown with a shell and scrolls, side rails with small scrolls, and a scalloped foot with a shell and two sprigs of your botanical drawing โ laid over a softly blurred copy of your cover photo. Inside: the section's label and title, your address, your directions and an Open in Maps button. Changing or removing your cover photo changes the background here too; without one, the frame sits on a deep shade of your accent with your botanical drawing. The map itself is not embedded: the button opens your venue in Maps.
RSVP โ the reply card
"Will you join us?" with your RSVP deadline under it, and the reply form on a white card drawn from the envelope: a fine double line inside its edge, the curve of the envelope's flap printed across its top and a wax heart sealing it. On a save-the-date page the card holds the save-the-date note instead of the form.
Gifts, Event Details and Save the Date
These three sections share their structure with Fotify's other picker-coloured designs (Meridian, Thread, Prism and Duotone), dressed in Sealed's paper and wax: white cards with a fine line in the colour of the wax, small spaced-capital labels, Gloock titles and buttons in your accent. Every icon becomes a small wax seal with the icon pressed into it.
- Gifts โ every registry, payment option, charity and wishlist item is its own card in a grid, grouped under small labels (with a count) when you offer more than one kind. Payment details sit in an inset box with a Copy button, and long account numbers wrap inside the card. Pay links, scan-to-pay QR codes and wishlist reservations appear as buttons on each card
- Event Details โ a card per topic, each opening with its wax seal and its label: dress code with your suggested and avoided colours as swatches, where to stay with each hotel as a mini-card (distance, price range, promo code, notes and a Book button), getting there with an icon for each kind of transport, and a full-width FAQ card where each question opens on tap
- Save the Date (Calendar) โ one card with the title and the event date on one side, and Google, Apple (downloads the calendar file) and Outlook buttons on the other
Closing
The page closes on your cover photo again, full bleed: a wax heart, your closing line (option 5) in Gloock capitals, your event name in script, a Send your reply button and the date and place. Without a cover photo, the closing is a deep shade of your accent with your botanical drawing.
Sections that use the shared layout
These sections keep Fotify's shared layout and are dressed in Sealed's style:
- Photo upload, QR code, Table assignment, Playlist, Sub-events, Special treatments and custom sections
Each sits in the same column as the rest of the page on a white card, with titles in Gloock and buttons in your accent. Photos in custom sections are capped in height so a tall portrait never takes over the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my cover photo also appear behind the venue and at the end of the page? A: Sealed uses your cover photo three times: on the cover, softly blurred behind the frame of your venue, and full bleed at the close. It keeps the horizontal crop you set. Change or remove your cover photo in the invitation's cover settings and all three change with it.
Q: I don't have a cover photo. Will the page look empty? A: No. Without a photo the cover, the venue and the closing are a deep shade of your accent with your botanical drawing in the colour of the wax.
Q: Where does the line on the polaroids come from? A: It's a short line of Sealed's own ("Love, always"). Switch the live preview into edit mode and double-click it to write your own; it shows on the front print of every pair.
Q: I picked a very pale or very dark wax. Why does it look different? A: A very pale colour would vanish and a very dark one would look like a hole in the page, so Sealed softens the colour into one that still reads as wax, keeping its hue. A grey stays grey, which gives a silver seal.
Q: Does Sealed work in right-to-left languages? A: Yes. In Hebrew and Arabic the layout mirrors: the place and the date on the cover swap sides, the story's snapshots and notes swap sides and the itinerary's line runs down the right side on a phone. The envelope and the frame around the venue are symmetrical, and the cover photo's crop stays as you set it.
Q: Does the page move? A: Only gently: the cover settles and your names rise as the page opens, the wax seal is pressed onto the envelope as it scrolls into view, and the polaroids straighten when you point at them. Guests whose device asks for reduced motion see a still page.
