How to Sign In to Fotify

Fotify has no passwords, so there is nothing to forget or reset. You sign in with a link or code sent to your email, with your Google or Microsoft account, or with a passkey. All of them open the same account, as long as they use the same email address.

Ways to Sign In

Go to dashboard.fotify.app and pick one:

  • Email link or code — type your email and use Sign in with Magic Link. Fotify emails you a sign-in link and a 6-digit code; either one signs you in.
  • Google — Continue with Google (or Sign in with Google).
  • Microsoft — Sign in with Microsoft, for Outlook, Hotmail and work Microsoft accounts.
  • Passkey — Sign in with a passkey, with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. You add a passkey once from your account settings (how to set one up).

There is no separate sign-up: the first time you sign in with an email address, your account is created.

Signing In With the Email Link or Code

  1. Enter your email address and complete the quick security check
  2. Click Sign in with Magic Link
  3. Open the email from Fotify (its subject starts with your code: "123456 is your Fotify login code")
  4. Either click the link in the email and then Sign me in, or type the 6-digit code in the box under Or enter the 6-digit code from the email: and click Sign in with code

Good to know:

  • The link and the code are valid for 1 hour
  • Each one works once. If something already opened the link (some work email systems scan links), the code from the same email still works
  • If you ask for a new email, only the newest code works
  • After 5 wrong codes, that code stops working; request a new email

The Email Didn't Arrive

  1. Wait a minute, then check your spam or junk folder, and the Promotions or Updates tab in Gmail
  2. Check the address you typed: a typo sends the email somewhere else
  3. Click Resend email (it becomes available after a few seconds)
  4. Still nothing? Sign in with Google or Microsoft if your email is one of those accounts, or write to support@fotify.app

If you see "Too many magic link requests", you asked for several emails in a short time. Wait a while (up to an hour) and try again, or use one of the other sign-in methods in the meantime.

Signing In on Another Device

The email link signs in the device you open it on. To sign in on your laptop with an email you read on your phone, type the 6-digit code on the laptop instead of tapping the link on the phone.

A passkey saved to your phone or synced through your Apple, Google or Microsoft account works on your other devices too.

Changing Your Account Email

The email you sign in with can't be changed from the dashboard. If you need your account and events moved to a different address, ask support through the support chat or at support@fotify.app.

Signing in with a different email (or a Google account with a different address) opens a different, empty account. If your events seem to have disappeared, sign out and sign in again with the address you used before.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I forgot my password. How do I reset it? A: There is nothing to reset: Fotify doesn't use passwords. Enter your email and click Sign in with Magic Link, then use the link or the 6-digit code from the email.

Q: The link says it has already been used or has expired. What now? A: Use the 6-digit code from the same email if it is less than an hour old. Otherwise request a new email and use the newest one.

Q: Why can't I see my events after signing in? A: You are probably signed in with a different email than the one you used before (for example Google with another address). Sign out and sign in with the original address.

Q: Can I use Google and the email link on the same account? A: Yes, as long as the Google or Microsoft account uses the same email address as your Fotify account.

Q: It says "Too many attempts". Am I locked out? A: Only for a short while. Wait a few minutes (up to an hour after many requests) and request a new sign-in email, or sign in with Google, Microsoft or a passkey.

Q: Can I sign out of other devices? A: Yes. See Sign out of other devices.
