Lullaby Template — Complete Guide
Lullaby is a soft, tender invitation for the littlest guests of honour. The page is a pastel sky washed in a colour you pick: puffy clouds drift in at the edges, tiny stars twinkle, a crescent moon watches over the cover, and your photo sits in a cloud-shaped frame like the first page of a baby book. The cards are pillowy, with a stitched seam just inside their edges like a quilt.
Lullaby is one of Fotify's simpler designs: its look comes from one colour you choose — any colour at all — and a choice of day, dusk or night sky.
This guide covers how Lullaby looks, the options unique to it, how to apply it to your event, and how it lays out each section of your invitation.
Lullaby is available on every plan, Free included.

What makes Lullaby different
Standard templates change colours and fonts over the same shared layout. Lullaby replaces the layout itself: its own cover and closing, its own section heads, and its own treatment of the message, countdown, gallery, story and schedule.
Signature design elements
- A sky in your colour — pick a tint from the suggested pastels or from the colour picker. Lullaby turns it into a soft sky, clouds and frames, and deepens the same hue for the text and buttons
- Day, dusk or night — a pale day sky, a lilac dusk over a peach horizon, or a deep navy night sky with a glowing moon
- Clouds and stars — puffy clouds drift in at the edges of the page and tiny hand-drawn stars twinkle around them; a small cloud with a star floats above every section title
- A baby-book photo frame — your cover photo in a cloud, a circle or a scalloped window with a stitched seam
- Pillowy, stitched cards — large rounded corners, a soft shadow and a dashed "quilt" seam inside the message, story, schedule, calendar and reply cards
- Warm type — Fraunces, a soft rounded serif, for the name and titles; Quicksand, a rounded sans, for everything guests read; and a handwritten accent (Caveat) for the cover line, the section labels and the story dates
- Always readable — whatever colour you pick, even a bright red or a near-black, the page stays soft and the text is deepened (or, on a night sky, lightened) until it reads clearly on every background it sits on
When to choose Lullaby
Lullaby suits gentle, family celebrations:
- Baby showers — powder blue, blush pink, mint or lemon with the Day sky; put the bump photo or the nursery in the cloud frame
- Gender reveals — keep it a surprise with mint or lemon, or choose blue or pink after the big moment
- Sip-and-sees and welcome-baby parties — the first photo of the baby in the scalloped frame, and a short story of the first weeks
- Christenings, baptisms and naming days — lilac or powder blue with the Dusk sky and only stars for a quieter page
- First birthdays — the story section becomes a year of milestones, and the gallery a wall of baby-book snapshots. See birthdays
If you prefer soft gradient light and a bold modern sans, try Prism. For a night sky of real constellations, try Celestial. For a scrapbook of instant photos, try Instant.
Applying Lullaby to your event
- Open your event, click Invitation in the sidebar, then the Invitation tab
- In Design Template, click Change template if the gallery is collapsed, and find Lullaby under Designs (it is listed under the Baby shower, Birthday and Party filters)
- Optional: press Try it on to see Lullaby with your own invitation details in the live preview — nothing is saved until you press Use this design
- Or click the Lullaby card to apply it straight away
- Open Lullaby options below the gallery to pick your tint and the other options described below. Changes save automatically
Lullaby works on every plan. On free events a small "Made with Fotify" badge appears in the bottom corner of the invitation; any paid plan or an active subscription removes it.
Switching to another template later is non-destructive: your event content stays exactly as you entered it, and your Lullaby options are kept in case you switch back.
Lullaby options
Lullaby has seven options of its own. They take the place of the standard colour and font controls, which Lullaby doesn't use.
1. Pastel tint
The colour the page is washed in. Pick it two ways:
- A suggested swatch — Powder blue (default), Blush pink, Mint, Lemon, Lilac or Peach
- Pick any color — the last chip opens your device's colour picker, so you can match the nursery, the cake or the balloons exactly. The colour's code is shown beside the chips
Any colour works. Lullaby never paints your pick as it is where it would hurt legibility: it softens it into a pastel for the sky, the clouds and the frames, and deepens the same hue for the text, the labels and the buttons. A bright or dark colour still gives a soft page, and a grey gives a calm, neutral one.
2. Sky
- Day (default) — a pale wash of your tint from the top of the screen to a slightly deeper horizon, with white clouds
- Dusk — a lilac sky over a warm peach horizon, with rosy clouds
- Night — a deep navy sky tinted with your colour, a glowing moon, and your pastel turned into the light text and the buttons
3. Decorations
What floats at the edges of the page and above each section title:
- Clouds and stars (default)
- Clouds — clouds only, no stars
- Stars — stars only, no clouds
4. Photo frame
The shape of the window your cover photo sits in: Cloud (default), Circle or Scalloped. Each has a stitched seam just inside its edge.
5. Floating clouds
On by default: the clouds bob very gently and the stars twinkle. Turn it off for a perfectly still page. Guests whose device asks for reduced motion always see a still page.
6. Cover line
The handwritten line above the event name (up to 60 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("Join us to celebrate"). Try "A little one is on the way", "Oh boy!", "Welcome, little one" or "Turning one".
7. Closing title
The big line at the end of the page (up to 80 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("We can't wait to celebrate with you"). Try "Come and meet our little star" or "See you at the party".
Every piece of text Lullaby prints on the invitation — the cover line, the Date, Time and Where labels, the reply buttons, the section labels and titles, the countdown units, the closing title — can also be rewritten directly on the page: switch the live preview into edit mode and double-click the text. Section titles you have already set in their own settings (story, countdown, gifts, where to stay, getting there, FAQs) are edited in place the same way.
How each section is treated
Cover
A centred cover replaces the standard header:
- A crescent moon and stars in the top corner (the stars stay hidden when Decorations is set to Clouds)
- Your cover photo in the frame you chose, keeping the horizontal crop you set. Without a cover photo the cover simply starts with your cover line and name
- Cover line (option 6) in the handwritten accent
- Your event name, large in Fraunces. Long names step down a size so they never break mid-word
- Date, Time and Where on a soft ribbon, parted by stitches — the time follows the Show time setting of your invitation's cover, and every guest sees the date you picked, whatever their time zone
- Let us know — a button that scrolls to the RSVP form. It only appears when your RSVP section is visible, and never on a save-the-date page
Section heads
Each section opens with a small cloud and a star (following your Decorations option), the section's label in the handwritten accent, then its title and, for the story and gifts, your subtitle or gift message.
Message
Your invitation message on one pillowy card with a stitched seam, set large and centred. A long letter steps down to a comfortable reading size.
Countdown
One little moon per unit: a round, softly shaded disc with a stitched ring, the number in Fraunces and the unit underneath — days, hours, minutes and (if you switch them on) seconds. When the countdown ends, your completion message appears instead.
Gallery (Carousel)
Snapshots pinned into a baby book: each photo is a rounded print with a white border, tilted a touch, keeping its own shape — two columns on a phone, three on wider screens.
Story
A baby-book timeline: a stitched line runs down the side with a star for every milestone, and each milestone is a pillowy page with its photo, its date in the handwritten accent, the title and the description. On wider screens the photo sits beside the text. Every milestone is laid out the same way; one without a photo is simply a shorter page.
Itinerary
One pillowy card per day: the date as its title, then a dotted line of stars, each entry hanging from its star with the time, the event, the place with a pin and any note.
Location, Gifts, Event Details, Save the Date and RSVP
These five sections share their structure with Fotify's other picker-coloured designs (Meridian, Thread, Prism and Duotone), dressed in Lullaby's colours: pillowy cards with large rounded corners and a soft shadow, rounded pill buttons in the deepened tint, and Fraunces titles.
- Location — a map card beside an address card with your address, your directions and an Open in Maps button. When a map can't be shown, the map card draws a pin with the venue's coordinates; without coordinates the address card spans the row
- Gifts — every registry, payment option, charity and wishlist item is its own card in a grid, grouped under small labels (with a count) when you offer more than one kind. Payment details sit in an inset box with a Copy button, and long account numbers wrap inside the card. Pay links, scan-to-pay QR codes and wishlist reservations appear as buttons on each card
- Event Details — a card per topic: what to wear with your suggested and avoided colours as swatches, where to stay with each hotel as a mini-card (distance, price range, promo code, notes and a Book button), getting there with an icon for each kind of transport, and a full-width FAQ card where each question opens on tap
- Save the Date (Calendar) — one stitched card with the title and the event date on one side, and Google, Apple (downloads the calendar file) and Outlook buttons on the other
- RSVP — the title with your RSVP deadline under it, and the reply form on a stitched card: the attend / decline choices as two selectable boxes and a rounded send button. On a save-the-date page, the card holds the save-the-date note instead of the form
Closing
A small moon resting on a cloud, your closing title (option 7) large in Fraunces, the date and place, a final Reply button, and gentle rolling hills where the page comes to rest.
Sections that use the shared layout
These sections keep Fotify's shared layout and are dressed in Lullaby's style:
- Photo upload, QR code, Table assignment, Playlist, Sub-events, Special treatments and custom sections
Each sits in the same column as the rest of the page on a pillowy card, with titles in Fraunces and rounded buttons in the deepened tint. Photos in custom sections are capped in height so a tall portrait never takes over the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use Lullaby for a first birthday or a christening, not only a baby shower? A: Yes. The default wording is neutral ("Join us to celebrate", "Will you join us?"), and every line can be changed — with the Cover line and Closing title options, or by double-clicking the text in the live preview.
Q: I picked a bright colour. Why does the page look softer than my colour? A: Lullaby is meant to be gentle, so it turns your pick into a pastel for the sky, the clouds and the frames, and uses deeper shades of the same hue for the text and buttons. That keeps every label readable while the page stays soft.
Q: Is the night sky readable? A: Yes. On Night, the text is lightened until it reads clearly on the navy sky and on the cards, and the buttons are filled with your pastel and a dark label.
Q: Can I turn the moving clouds off? A: Yes, switch Floating clouds off. Guests whose device asks for reduced motion always see a still page, whatever you choose.
Q: I don't have a cover photo. Will the cover look empty? A: No. Without a photo, the cover starts with the moon, the stars, your cover line and your name, with nothing left blank.
Q: Does Lullaby work in right-to-left languages? A: Yes. In Hebrew and Arabic the layout mirrors: the moon moves to the other corner, the story and schedule lines run down the right side, and the clouds drift the other way. The cover photo's crop stays as you set it.
Q: Can I use custom RSVP fields with Lullaby? A: Yes. Custom fields (dropdowns, dates, checkboxes, file uploads and so on) pick up Lullaby's fields and labels automatically.
