Sprinkle Template — Complete Guide

Sprinkle turns your invitation into a retro ice-cream parlour. A candy-striped awning with scalloped edges runs across the top of the page, over a pastel shop front scattered with rainbow sprinkles. Your cover photo sits in a round scalloped frame with a double scoop on a waffle cone — cherry on top — standing at its corner. Further down, your message is a parlour menu card, the countdown numbers sit on scoops of ice cream, and your schedule is written up on a menu board.

Sprinkle is one of Fotify's simpler designs: its look comes from one flavour colour you choose — any colour at all — a choice of parlour colours and the sprinkles.

This guide covers how Sprinkle looks, the options unique to it, how to apply it to your event, and how it lays out each section of your invitation.

Sprinkle is available on every plan, Free included.

For an overview of the template gallery and the picker, see How to Customize Your RSVP Invitation.

What makes Sprinkle different

Standard templates change colours and fonts over the same shared layout. Sprinkle replaces the layout itself: its own cover and closing, its own section heads, and its own treatment of the message, countdown, gallery, story, schedule and reply card.

Signature design elements

  • One flavour — pick it from the suggested swatches or from the colour picker. Sprinkle uses it for the top scoop, the buttons and the coloured titles, and adjusts it only as far as each of them needs to stay readable
  • Four parlour colourways — a mint, lemon and lilac mix, all blue, all pink, or half pink and half blue for a "which will it be?" party. They are colours only: nothing on the page says boy or girl unless you write it
  • A candy-striped awning — scalloped stripes across the top of the cover, and again at the foot of the page as the parlour counter
  • A scoop on a waffle cone — drawn in one cocoa line, with a cherry on top
  • Rainbow sprinkles — scattered down the edges of the cover and the closing, on the scoops and under each section title. You can turn them off
  • Scalloped edges — on the photo frame, the cover's hem, the menu card, the gallery mats and the reply ticket
  • Rounded retro type — names and titles in Sniglet, a soft parlour-sign face; everything guests read in Outfit, a clean sans
  • Always readable — whatever colour you pick, even a pale yellow or a near-black, the text and buttons are adjusted until they read clearly on the page, the cards and the pastel shop front

When to choose Sprinkle

Sprinkle suits any sweet, light-hearted celebration:

  • Baby showers and sprinkles — pastel colours and a scoop of something sweet for a first baby or a second
  • Gender reveals — pick Half and half for a shop front split pink and blue, and keep everyone guessing
  • Kids' birthdays — a parlour party with the schedule on a menu board
  • Ice-cream socials — a summer party, a school or club social, a sundae bar

Guests can share their photos from the day through the photo upload section, and see them through Fotify's live gallery. See how Fotify works for parties and birthdays.

If you would rather have a soft nursery sky of clouds and stars, try Lullaby. For a bright party of confetti and balloons, try Confetti.

Applying Sprinkle to your event

  1. Open your event, click Invitation in the sidebar, then the Invitation tab
  2. In Design Template, click Change template if the gallery is collapsed, and find Sprinkle under Designs (it is listed under the Baby Shower filter, and under Birthday and Party too)
  3. Optional: press Try it on to see Sprinkle with your own invitation details in the live preview — nothing is saved until you press Use this design
  4. Or click the Sprinkle card to apply it straight away
  5. Open Sprinkle options below the gallery to pick your flavour and the other options described below. Changes save automatically

Sprinkle works on every plan. On free events a small "Made with Fotify" badge appears in the bottom corner of the invitation; any paid plan or an active subscription removes it.

Switching to another template later is non-destructive: your event content stays exactly as you entered it, and your Sprinkle options are kept in case you switch back.

Sprinkle options

Sprinkle has five options of its own. They take the place of the standard colour and font controls, which Sprinkle doesn't use.

1. Flavour

The colour of the top scoop, the buttons and the coloured titles. Pick it two ways:

  • A suggested swatch — Strawberry (default), Pistachio, Blueberry, Mango or Lavender
  • Pick any color — the last chip opens your device's colour picker, so you can match your party colours exactly. The colour's code is shown beside the chips

Any colour works. Sprinkle never paints your pick as it is where it would hurt legibility: the scoop is lightened just enough for the countdown numbers on it to read, while the titles and the buttons are deepened just enough to read clearly on the page. The waffle cones, the cherry and the sprinkles keep their own colours.

2. Parlour colours

The pastels of the shop front, the awning stripes and the other scoops:

  • Surprise mix (default) — mint, lemon and lilac
  • Blue — a powder-blue parlour
  • Pink — a pink parlour
  • Half and half — the shop front split pink and blue, the awning striped in both

3. Rainbow sprinkles

On by default: sprinkles down the edges of the cover and the closing, on the scoops and under each section title. Turn them off for a plainer page; the section titles then get a small scalloped line in your flavour instead.

4. Cover line

The line on the little sign under the awning, above your photo (up to 60 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("Join us for a sweet celebration"). Try "A baby shower for Maya", "Sophie is turning five" or "Boy or girl?".

5. Closing line

The big line at the end of the page (up to 80 characters). Leave it blank to use the default ("See you at the party"). Try "We can't wait to meet you, little one".

Every piece of text Sprinkle prints on the invitation — the cover line, the reply buttons, the section labels and titles, the heading of the menu card, the countdown units, the closing line — can also be rewritten directly on the page: switch the live preview into edit mode and double-click the text. Section titles you have already set in their own settings (story, countdown, gifts, where to stay, getting there, FAQs) are edited in place the same way.

How each section is treated

Cover

A parlour shop front replaces the standard header:

  • The awning across the top of the page, in your parlour colours
  • Cover line (option 4) on a little rounded sign
  • Your cover photo in a round scalloped frame with a ring of piped dots in your flavour, and a double scoop on a waffle cone standing at its corner. Without a cover photo, the cone stands on its own, a little larger
  • Your event name in rounded Sniglet with a soft shadow in your flavour. Long names step down a size so they never break mid-word
  • The date on a rounded tag, then the time and the place — each follows the Show date, Show time and Show location settings of your invitation's cover, and every guest sees the date you picked, whatever their time zone
  • Save me a scoop — a button that scrolls to the RSVP form. It only appears when your RSVP section is visible, and never on a save-the-date page

The shop front ends in a scalloped hem, with sprinkles down both edges when they are on.

Section heads

Each section opens centred: the section's label in small spaced capitals in your flavour, its title in Sniglet, and a short run of rainbow sprinkles. For the story and gifts, your subtitle or gift message follows.

Message — the menu card

Your message on a parlour menu card: white card with scalloped top and bottom edges, a double rule in your flavour inside it, a small cone at the top and "A sweet note" as its heading. A long message steps down a size and aligns to the start of the line, which is easier to read over many lines.

Countdown — scoops on cones

The time left as a row of ice-cream cones, each with its number on the scoop: the first scoop in your flavour with a cherry on top, the others in your parlour colours, and each unit's name beneath. The countdown's own title replaces "Counting down" when you set one, and your completion message is shown once the day has come.

Gallery (Carousel)

Your photos on white mats with scalloped edges all round, like a cake doily, each with a flat shadow in one of your parlour colours — two a row on a phone and three on wider screens (two for two or four photos, and a single centred photo for one). When the last row has fewer photos, they sit centred under the others.

Story — a line of sprinkles

A line of rainbow sprinkles runs down the side of the section (a dotted line in your flavour with sprinkles off), and every milestone is marked on it the same way, with a round scoop beside a card: its photo (when it has one), its date on a pastel tag, its title in Sniglet and its text. On wider screens the photo sits beside the text.

Itinerary — the menu board

The schedule on a menu board with a little striped awning across its top. Under each day's date, every entry is a menu line: the moment, a dotted line, and the time where a menu prints its price, in your flavour, with the place and any note beneath. Entry icons are not shown.

RSVP — the parlour ticket

"Will you join us?" with your RSVP deadline under it, and the reply form on a parlour ticket: a scalloped top edge, a candy-striped band with a little cone in a round badge, and a perforated tear line with a punched notch at each side above the form, with the attend / decline choices as two selectable boxes. On a save-the-date page, the ticket holds the save-the-date note instead of the form.

Location, Gifts, Event Details and Save the Date

These four sections share their structure with Fotify's other picker-coloured designs (Meridian, Thread, Prism and the others), dressed in Sprinkle's style: white cards with a cocoa outline and a flat pastel shadow, rounded buttons in your flavour, and titles in Sniglet.

  • Location — a map card beside an address card with your address, your directions and an Open in Maps button. When a map can't be shown, the map card draws a pin with the venue's coordinates; without coordinates the address card spans the row
  • Gifts — every registry, payment option, charity and wishlist item is its own card in a grid, grouped under small labels (with a count) when you offer more than one kind. Payment details sit in an inset box with a Copy button, and long account numbers wrap inside the card. Pay links, scan-to-pay QR codes and wishlist reservations appear as buttons on each card
  • Event Details — a card per topic: dress code with your suggested and avoided colours as swatches, where to stay with each hotel as a mini-card (distance, price range, promo code, notes and a Book button), getting there with an icon for each kind of transport, and a full-width FAQ card where each question opens on tap
  • Save the Date (Calendar) — one card with the title and the event date on one side, and Google, Apple (downloads the calendar file) and Outlook buttons on the other

Closing

A scoop on a cone with sprinkles around it, your closing line (option 5), the date and place, a final Save me a scoop button, and the awning again at the foot of the page as the parlour counter.

Sections that use the shared layout

These sections keep Fotify's shared layout and are dressed in Sprinkle's style:

  • Photo upload, QR code, Table assignment, Playlist, Sub-events, Special treatments and custom sections

Each sits in the same column as the rest of the page on a card, with titles in Sniglet and buttons in your flavour. Photos in custom sections are capped in height so a tall portrait never takes over the page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is Sprinkle only for baby showers? A: No. It's listed under baby showers first, but it works for any sweet celebration: a gender reveal, a kid's birthday, a sprinkle for a second baby or an ice-cream social. Every line of wording can be changed to suit it.

Q: Does "Half and half" say "boy or girl" on the page? A: No. The parlour colours are colours only: Half and half splits the shop front pink and blue and stripes the awning in both, but nothing on the page mentions boy or girl unless you write it — for example as your cover line.

Q: I picked a pale colour. Why are the titles and buttons darker than my colour? A: Sprinkle keeps the page readable: the top scoop keeps your colour, and the titles and buttons use a deeper shade of the same hue so they read clearly on the cream page and the pastel shop front. A very dark pick works the other way round: the titles keep it, and the scoop is lightened so the countdown numbers on it stay readable.

Q: Why don't the cones or the sprinkles change with my flavour? A: They are the parlour's fixed details: the waffle cones, the cherry and the rainbow sprinkles keep their own colours, and your flavour is the scoop on top.

Q: My cover has no photo frame. Why? A: The scalloped frame holds your cover photo. Add a cover photo to your invitation and it appears in the frame with the cone at its corner; without one, the cone stands on its own.

Q: Does Sprinkle work in right-to-left languages? A: Yes. In Hebrew and Arabic the layout mirrors: the cone moves to the other corner of the photo, the story's line of sprinkles runs down the right side, and long messages align to the right. The cover stays centred and the cover photo's crop stays as you set it.

Q: Does the page move? A: Only gently as it opens: the awning drops into place, the photo rises in and the cherry lands on the cone. Guests whose device asks for reduced motion see a still page.

Q: Can I ask guests about dietary needs or their guess for the baby? A: Yes. Add custom RSVP fields (dropdowns, checkboxes, text and so on) to the reply form; they pick up Sprinkle's fields and labels automatically and appear on the parlour ticket.
